The objectives of this final project is (1) to identify the many variations of the planting pattern of the irrigated rice fields in Karawang regency, (2) to formulate the income of farm enterprises according to the planting patterns applied in this regency, and (3) to establish the strategy of irrigated rice fields based on the market demand and a more stable income of farm enterprises using a variety of alternative planting patterns in the regency.  Sampling was done through the “purposive technique”, which determines the research samples by selecting or deliberately appointing members of a population.  The primary data was obtained through  interviews  and questionnaires, while the secondary data was obtained through library study, which included (1) the potential data  and the utilization of irrigated rice fields, (2) the data of production and productivity of different commodities grown in the irrigated rice fields,  (3) information of regulations and policy support, and (4) other information related to the objectives of the study. The 7 planting patterns based on the study were (1) Rice-Rice-Sweet corn, (2) Rice-Rice-Chili, (3) Rice-Rice-Soybean, (4) Rice-Rice-Squash, (5) Rice-Rice-Caisim, (6) Rice-Rice-Long beans and (7) Rice-Rice-Rice. Even though most of the respondents are farmers who established diversification in the MK2, the area used was relatively small, only 28,22% of the total rice fields with only one commodity, which still reflected a relatively low diversification index (DI).  The DI value is considered high when approaching zero. The DI in this study was 0,5556-1,0000. Based on the analysis of the alternative of the selection of commodity and the determination of the best strategy  to be developed to increase the income of the irrigated rice field farmers  is  to gain access to a low-interest credit with an easy accessible procedure to finance their farm, with the order of selection of Rice-Rice-Soybean, Rice-Rice-Caisim, Rice-Rice-Long beans, Rice-Rice-Sweet corn, and Rice-Rice-Chili.   <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"MS Mincho"; panose-1:2 2 6 9 4 2 5 8 3 4; mso-font-alt:"MS 明朝"; mso-font-charset:128; mso-generic-font-family:modern; mso-font-pitch:fixed; mso-font-signature:-1610612033 1757936891 16 0 131231 0;} @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1610611985 1107304683 0 0 159 0;} @font-face {font-family:"\@MS Mincho"; panose-1:2 2 6 9 4 2 5 8 3 4; mso-font-charset:128; mso-generic-font-family:modern; mso-font-pitch:fixed; mso-font-signature:-1610612033 1757936891 16 0 131231 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"MS Mincho"; mso-fareast-language:JA;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; font-size:10.0pt; mso-ansi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family:"MS Mincho";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> Key words: diversification of planting pattern, farmers, income, irrigated rice field

Refer to cost analysis, in 2007, the company’s benefit has decreased about 31.41% than in 2006. This caused by the decrease of selling value in 2007 about 35.21% than in 2006. But in the other side the profit margin in 2007 increased 0.65% than in 2006. Based on industry analysis, it concludes that the processing industry has strategy factor at fair level which means that the market is still open and has a big potential to develop related to raw material supply factor. Based on strengths, weaknesses,  opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis. The increasing of fuel price, material supply and product quality as the factors that  become very dominant in influencing  continuity and activity of enterprises.
